Deacon's Ministry

OCTL Deacon's Ministry serves as a vital support system within the congregation, ensuring that the practical and spiritual needs of the church are met. Deacons, traditionally, are responsible for assisting the pastor, ministering to the congregation, and overseeing various aspects of church service. At True Light, the deacons likely:

Assist with Communion

Deacons play a key role in preparing and serving communion, ensuring it is administered respectfully and orderly.

Support Church Leadership

Deacons provide direct support to pastors and elders, helping with administrative tasks, event coordination, and pastoral care.

Care for the Congregation

Deacons are responsible for visiting the sick, offering spiritual and emotional support to members in need, and providing counsel when required.

Oversee Benevolence Programs

They might manage or assist with charitable activities, such as food drives, outreach programs, and financial aid for struggling members of the church.

Maintain Church Facilities

Some deacons may also take on roles that involve overseeing the upkeep of the church grounds and facilities, ensuring that the space is welcoming and functional for worship and gatherings.

This ministry embodies a heart of service, reflecting the biblical model of servant leadership found in Acts 6.
